News Release 2020 Lodging Tax Funding Applications due October 1, 2019



The Walla Walla County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) has announced the availability of grant funds, associated with an application process, for the purpose of supporting tourism promotion-related events or projects held in 2020 that will result in increases in the number of people traveling to the area for business or pleasure and utilizing lodging facilities for overnight stays.  Proceeds of the county lodging tax collections fund this opportunity.  Approximately $35,000-$50,000 will be available for grants for 2020 events.  Applicants must be Individual 501(c)3 & (c)6 non-profit organizations, and proof of status must be provided.  There are strict and detailed reporting requirements for required County reports to the state legislature associated with receiving grant funds.


An informational meeting regarding this grant funding opportunity will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 4:45 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Chambers, County Public Health and Legislative Building, 314 West Main, Walla Walla.  There will be a brief presentation and then members of the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee will be available to answer questions.
